Sleep Disorders

Sleep related disorders are a nationwide problem and the number of people who are suffering on a nightly basis and these numbers are rising with limited to almost no help, no answers. 30% of people suffer from disturbed sleep while 10% showing signs of chronic insomnia. The cost that come from sleep disorders in humans and economically have been calculated to be enormous!

An estimated 75% of serve cases are underdiagnosed. Unfortunately, the general public are not particularly informed, nor are healthcare professionals, due to lack of training in the medical field. A 5yr undergraduate course, time spent on sleep and sleep disorders was estimated at 10mins in total according to a 1998 study, with no reason to believe this has changed over the years, Public and professional unfamiliarity with sleep disorders may lead to manifestations of such disorders and misinterpreted as a quite different disorder of medical or psychiatric type disorders. Consequently, such mistakes delay in correct diagnosis or, more seriously, the real diagnosis not being treated at all.

  • According to a national study nearly a 3 rd of people in the United States an estimated 50 to 70 million individuals are experiencing chronic sleep disorders and wakefulness

Since the number of patients diagnosed with sleep apnea is on a global rise causing an increase in the sleep apnea market. The sleep apnea devices market was valued at USD 6.0 billion in 2018 and is expected to witness more than 7.5% CAGR from 2019-2025. This is due to increase awareness among the population. According to a study conducted by WHO (World Health Organization), the gobal prevalence of sleep apnea is around 100 million people. One out of five adults in the US have mild OSA while one out of fifth teen have moderate to serve OSA. The next few years the numbers are  expected to increase, primarily due to increasing incidents from sleep-related disorders. Driving the Sleep Apnea market from 2018 to 2025.
